Process safety support was provided for an NMC cathode active material production plant for the battery industry.
The scope of work included a structured design review of the project, followed by HAZOP with LOPA studies for selected process areas and systems. The studies focused on the identification of process hazards, assessment of deviations, review of safeguards and evaluation of risk reduction measures required to support safe design and future operation.
The project required consideration of chemical process risks, hazardous substances and the specific requirements of modern battery materials production facilities. Particular attention was given to the interface between process design, automation, operational philosophy and safety functions.
The work was carried out in a bilingual project environment, with communication and technical discussions conducted in English and Chinese. This required clear workshop facilitation, structured documentation and effective cooperation between international engineering and project teams.
This experience strengthens the company’s position in projects related to energy transition, electromobility and advanced industrial technologies, particularly in the battery materials sector.
